🧪 Engineering Systems Engineering Simulation
Interactive systems-engineering simulator: build a series chain of subsystems, add parallel-redundant components to each stage under a cost budget, and watch system reliability R(t), MTBF and Monte Carlo component failures evolve in real time.
Systems engineers rarely design a single point of failure — they compose subsystems into a chain and decide, stage by stage, how much parallel redundancy to buy under a fixed cost, mass or power budget. This simulator renders that chain as a real 3D reliability block diagram: each stage is a bank of components in parallel, stages combine in series, and every unit follows an exponential failure model with a shared failure rate. Adjust λ, per-unit cost and the budget cap, add or remove redundant units per stage, and watch the analytic system reliability curve R(t), the estimated MTBF and the cost-vs-budget readout respond immediately — then run a Monte Carlo failure trial to see one concrete realization of which units survive and which fail.
This simulation focuses on the design and analysis of complex systems, considering interactions between different components. Users will optimize a system's performance based on defined constraints.
