Underground Drone Mapping (2D)

Top-down lidar-mapping sim: an autonomous drone sweeps a lidar beam through an irregular cave, each ray hit adds a point to the coverage map, and mapped volume, point density and battery all track the flight speed, lidar rate and obstacle margin you set.

This 2D companion turns the same underground lidar-mapping task into a plain top-down view: a drone flies through an irregular cave, sweeping a lidar beam whose ray hits accumulate into a point cloud on the canvas. Raise the flight speed or lidar rate and the point cloud fills in faster but the battery drains quicker; widen the obstacle margin and the drone gives cave walls more clearance while autonomous mode picks fresh unexplored waypoints, or switch autonomous navigation off to fly the drone yourself and see how manual coverage compares.

⚙ Under the hood

Fly an autonomous drone through an irregular cave, sweep a lidar beam to build a point-cloud coverage map, and watch mapped volume, point density and battery track the flight speed and lidar rate you set.
