This 2D side-view simulator models the same momentum-exchange physics as the 3D Pelton wheel: a free jet strikes curved buckets and is deflected through roughly 180° − β, and the wheel's angular velocity is integrated in real time from the net torque (jet impulse minus generator load). A live power-vs-bucket-speed curve is swept every frame from the instantaneous relative-velocity power formula, confirming numerically — for any jet velocity or deflection angle — that maximum power extraction always occurs at a bucket speed of exactly half the jet speed.
