A wind turbine's rotating blades don't just generate power — when the sun is low, their moving shadow can strobe across nearby homes at the blade-pass frequency, a real siting concern called shadow flicker. This simulator drives an actual solar-position model (hour of day, day of year, fixed 51°N latitude) to move the sun through the sky, casts a real geometric shadow from a turbine's hub height and rotor radius, and checks live whether that shadow reaches and sweeps across a house placed at a chosen distance and bearing. Watch the elevation and azimuth readouts track the sun, the shadow line grow and swing as the day passes, and the flicker badge and frequency readout light up exactly when the physics says the house would experience it — the same elevation/azimuth/shadow-length geometry real wind-farm siting studies use to predict and limit flicker-hours on neighboring properties.
