Building Envelope Heat Loss Simulator

Interactive wall-envelope heat-loss simulator: pick an insulation material and thickness, set indoor/outdoor temperature and wind speed, and watch the U-value, heat-loss power and annual heating cost respond in real time with a live 3D heat-flow visualization.

Energy-efficient buildings hinge on one number: the wall's U-value, the rate heat leaks per square metre per degree of temperature difference. This simulator builds a real multi-layer wall — gypsum board, your chosen insulation, and a brick veneer — computes its combined thermal resistance from each layer's conductivity and thickness plus wind-driven exterior convection, and turns the result into a live U-value, heat-loss power for a 100 m² wall, and a rough heating-season cost. A 3D house recolors from blue to red as the envelope gets leakier, while animated particles crossing an exploded wall cross-section show the heat physically escaping from warm indoor air to the cold outside.
