A wind turbine's rotor is only efficient across a narrow band of speeds relative to the wind — this 2D simulator makes that relationship tangible. Adjust wind speed and blade pitch, then either drive rotor speed by hand or hand control to a maximum-power-point-tracking (MPPT) controller, and watch the operating point slide along a live-plotted Cp(λ,β) curve against the Betz limit while a 2D rotor spins at the resulting tip-speed ratio. Drag the top-down inset to yaw the nacelle off the wind and watch the cosine-cubed power loss take hold in real time.
