⚡ PCB Trace Signal Timing — 2D Propagation & RC Delay
2D PCB trace-timing lab: eight real microstrip traces of different lengths, each with resistance, capacitance, propagation velocity and RC settling time computed from real copper-and-FR4 formulas — adjust trace geometry and clock rate to see which traces meet timing.
This 2D companion turns the 3D Circuit Board Flow's animated signal pulses into a real, measurable PCB signal-integrity model: eight microstrip traces of different lengths, all driven from the same edge at once, each get their own series resistance and ground-plane capacitance from real copper and FR4 geometry (Hammerstad's microstrip formula, copper resistivity, a physical propagation velocity), so the wavefront-arrival delay and the RC settling delay you see are computed, not animated by hand — and a clock-rate slider lets you push a trace past its timing budget and watch it visibly fail to settle before the next edge.
