Aurora Curtain — Field-Line Folds (2D)

2D simulator: vertical aurora rays follow magnetic-field-line curves, rippling and folding along a horizontal wave, with real altitude-dependent color banding driven by a solar-wind-intensity slider.

A 2D companion to the 3D northern-lights curtain: instead of an orbitable ribbon mesh, this canvas draws hundreds of individual vertical rays, each bent along a magnetic-field-line-like curve and rippled by a shared horizontal fold wave, so the pleating you see is built ray by ray rather than as a single deformed sheet. Altitude bands set each ray's colour using the real oxygen/nitrogen collision chemistry, and a solar-wind-intensity slider drives particle flux, penetration depth and curtain height together, the same way a geomagnetic storm brightens and lowers the real aurora.

Altitude bands set each ray's colour using the real oxygen/nitrogen collision chemistry -- green around 100-150 km, red above that, blue/violet lower down -- and a solar-wind-intensity slider drives particle flux, penetration depth and curtain height together, the same way a geomagnetic storm brightens and lowers the real aurora.
