Circular Economy Material Flows
Interactive 3D simulation of material flows between production, consumption, recycling and landfill: dial the circularity rate from a fully linear take-make-dispose model to a closed-loop circular economy and watch virgin resource depletion and landfill accumulation respond.
A circular economy keeps material looping between production, consumption and recycling instead of letting it fall into landfill after a single use, the way a linear take-make-dispose model does. This simulation visualizes both models at once: material units travel between Production, Consumption and Recycling stations, and at every consumption event a circularity dial decides whether a unit is looped back for reuse or lost to a landfill pillar that grows in front of you. Turn circularity down to see landfill mass climb and the finite resource stock drain to replace what's lost; turn it up to watch the loop nearly close.
Interactive 3D simulation of material units cycling between production, consumption and recycling, where a circularity dial decides whether each unit loops back for reuse or is lost to a growing landfill pillar that must be replaced from a finite, shrinking resource stock.
