3D Flocculation Clarifier Simulator

3D coagulation/flocculation clarifier: watch a rotating paddle drive Smoluchowski collision-driven floc growth in a water tank, with neutralized colloids aggregating and settling into a rising sludge bed.

This 3D clarifier tank stages the same coagulation and flocculation kinetics as the 2D jar test, but as a genuine three-dimensional problem: a rotating paddle imposes a velocity gradient that varies with distance from its shaft, colloidal particles that have had their surface charge neutralized by the coagulant dose collide and stick using real 3D nearest-neighbour search (not a flattened cross-section), and merged flocs settle under Stokes' law onto a sludge bed that visibly builds up at the tank floor. Orbit the camera to inspect floc growth near the paddle versus the calmer settling zone below it, and tune coagulant dose, paddle speed and raw turbidity to see how each reshapes the tank.

⚙ Under the hood

Model a 3D clarifier tank with a rotating paddle mixer that drives shear, causing flocs to merge and settle into a growing sludge bed.
