IoT Botnet Propagation
Interactive 3D epidemic model of a Mirai-style IoT botnet: watch weak-credential devices get compromised by scanning malware, tune scan rate, default-credential exposure and patch rate, and see the susceptible-infected-patched curve evolve live.
This simulator models how Mirai-style malware compromises a network of Internet-of-Things devices — routers, cameras, DVRs — that still carry factory-default credentials. A handful of seed-infected devices scan the network for others sharing the same weak logins; every successful guess recruits a new bot, exactly following the susceptible–infected–patched (SIP) epidemic equations used in real botnet-growth research. Tune the scan rate and default-credential exposure to drive an outbreak, or push the patch rate high enough to watch herd immunity stop it before it takes over the network, with live counts and an infection-rate readout tracking the population in real time.
A 3D susceptible-infected-patched epidemic model of a Mirai-style IoT botnet: watch weak-credential devices get compromised by scanning malware and see how scan rate, default-credential exposure and patch rate decide whether the outbreak takes over the network or dies out.
