Embodied vs. Operational Carbon Crossover
Interactive 3D city-block simulator: tune the timber/concrete/steel material mix and insulation quality of a block of buildings, run time forward, and watch each tower's cumulative embodied + operational carbon column grow and shift from green to red.
A city block of towers rendered in real 3D, each carrying a growing carbon column: a fixed base from the embodied carbon of its structural materials, plus a climbing top that accrues every simulated year from operational heating and cooling energy. Change the timber/concrete/steel mix to raise or lower the embodied starting point, change insulation quality to flatten or steepen the operational slope, then run the clock forward and watch which design choice actually keeps the city's cumulative carbon lower over a real building lifetime.
Tune a city block's timber/concrete/steel material mix and insulation quality, then run time forward to watch each tower's embodied and operational carbon accumulate — and see which design choice actually keeps total emissions lower over a real building lifetime.
