Doughnut Economics: Social Foundation vs Ecological Ceiling
Interactive 3D doughnut-economics model: tune material throughput, resource efficiency, redistribution and population scale, and watch 12 radial bars fall short of the social foundation or overshoot the ecological ceiling in real time.
This simulator renders Kate Raworth's doughnut-economics model as a real 3D radial chart: 12 bars — six social minima and six ecological boundaries — arranged around two reference rings. Tune material throughput, resource efficiency, redistribution and population scale and watch each bar respond live: social bars that fall short of the inner ring signal a shortfall in human need, ecological bars that push past the outer ring signal a breached planetary boundary. Live readouts track how many dimensions sit inside the safe and just space between the two rings, making the central trade-off of sustainable development — growing an economy without shrinking the floor or blowing through the ceiling — something you can steer by hand.
