🧪 Climate Climate Policy Simulation
Set carbon-price, coal-phase-out and clean-investment policy levers across three world blocs and watch the emissions trajectory, remaining 1.5°C carbon budget and projected 2100 warming respond in real time, driven by the Transient Climate Response to Cumulative Emissions.
Real climate diplomacy is a negotiation over levers, not a single dial: carbon prices, coal phase-out dates and clean-energy investment across unevenly-developed blocs, all of which only matter through their effect on cumulative emissions. This simulator lets you set those levers for a Developed bloc, an Emerging bloc and the Rest of the World, then projects each bloc's annual emissions out to 2100 and converts the resulting cumulative CO₂ into a warming estimate using the Transient Climate Response to Cumulative Emissions — the same near-linear relationship the IPCC uses to define remaining carbon budgets. Watch the 3D emissions skyline bend as you raise a carbon price or move up a coal phase-out date, and see in real time whether your policy mix keeps cumulative emissions under the roughly 667 GtCO₂ left for a 1.5°C-aligned world.
Users navigate a complex policy landscape in this simulation, making decisions about climate regulations and international agreements to achieve emission reduction targets.
