Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) units suspend a zeolite catalyst in an upward stream of hot hydrocarbon vapor, converting heavy crude fractions into gasoline-range products. This simulator renders a real fluidized bed in 3D: drag the gas superficial velocity across the Wen–Yu minimum fluidization velocity Umf to flip the catalyst bed from a static packed column to a churning, bubbling suspension, watch the bed expand and particles circulate, and track how hydrocarbon feed cracks into lighter product on the catalyst's acid sites — while coke deposition (the Voorhies correlation) steadily deactivates that same catalyst until you regenerate it.
