This simulation renders a real candle flame's diffusion-combustion chemistry inside a carved jack-o'-lantern. Wax melts, is drawn up the wick by capillary action, vaporizes, and burns only where the rising fuel vapor meets ambient oxygen — producing three visually distinct zones: a dark/blue core of unburned vapor close to the wick, a luminous yellow zone where glowing soot particles form and burn, and a thin outer blue mantle of complete combustion. Adjust wick exposure, airflow and wax type to see the flame's height, stability and color respond exactly as a real candle would, including flickering and self-extinguishing under a strong draft.
