This simulator visualizes a core concept in radiation dosimetry: the same absorbed dose does not carry the same risk at every age. A base dose-response model (linear no-threshold) converts the claimed dose into a raw risk figure identical for everyone; an age-dependent scaling factor is then applied on top, following the shape used in real BEIR VII / ICRP-style age-at-exposure risk models — highest for infants and young children, falling steadily through adulthood and old age. Move the age slider from infant to elderly at a fixed dose to see the age-scaled risk estimate and its ratio to the age-30 adult reference change in real time, and read the accompanying curve to see how risk falls with age across the whole lifespan.
