Bacteria multiply by binary fission — one cell splitting into two identical daughters — and this simulator renders that mechanic directly: individual rod-shaped cells grow, elongate, and split apart in 3D as their division threshold is reached. Zoomed out, the population as a whole traces the classic logistic growth curve: near-exponential doubling while resources are abundant, bending over as crowding and nutrient depletion push the colony toward its carrying capacity. Adjust nutrient supply, temperature, and carrying capacity to see how each reshapes both the visible fission events and the underlying dN/dt = rN(1-N/K) growth curve.
