This simulator visualizes how nanoscale drug carriers find and treat a tumor while leaving healthy tissue alone. Gold nanoparticles circulate along a blood vessel among ordinary blood cells. Near the cancer cell, a patch of leaky tumor vasculature (the EPR effect) lets carriers slip out of the bloodstream; if a carrier's surface ligand then matches the cancer cell's receptors — a key-lock recognition step — it docks, turns orange, and releases its drug payload directly at the tumor. Carriers that drift past the healthy cell instead have no matching receptor there and simply continue circulating. Adjust nanoparticle count, blood-flow speed and targeting accuracy to see how each changes delivery efficiency.
