🐎 Animal Gaits and the Froude Number: Walk–Trot–Gallop and Dinosaur Trackway Speeds
Blender-rigged horse, dog, cheetah-like cat, elephant and dinosaur reconstructions walk, trot and gallop at speeds set by the Froude number Fr = v²/(g h), with inverted-pendulum and spring-mass (SLIP) models, an Alexander trackway speed tool and cost of transport. Unlike the gait-cycle, cheetah-chase and inverted-pendulum control pages, it unifies gait transitions across body sizes and gravities (Moon/Mars) with dinosaur trackway speed estimates.
