📦 Traceability and Transparency in Beekeeping
Trace a batch-coded honey jar's journey from hive to jar through a 3D hive-to-retail supply chain, and run a mock recall trace back to its origin apiary.
A 3D hive-to-jar production line: honey jars flow in colour-coded batches from three source apiaries through extraction and bottling — where the batch code is applied — to distribution and retail, and can be traced backward to their exact origin.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Jars from a chosen batch converge at bottling, where individual harvests become a single traceable lot. The "Trace to source" pulse shows what happens when a customer or inspector scans a batch code — the chain runs backward to the exact apiary and harvest date.
🎮 How to Use
Pick a batch code, watch its jars highlight along the line, and toggle record tickets to see the harvest data attached at each stage. Adjust line speed and throughput, then press Trace to source to run a mock recall.
💡 Did You Know?
UK food law requires honey sellers to trace one step back and one step forward — but batch-coding every harvest to a specific hive yard goes further, and is often what builds the trust that wins wholesale accounts.
