🧪 Peacock Spider Fan Dance Courtship (2D)
A 2D top-down courtship lab: a male peacock spider's fan dance is scored by a live performance-quality model, with dance speed, sync target and female sensitivity as genuine, live-tunable parameters that decide acceptance or rejection each round.
This 2D companion swaps the 3D scene for a plain top-down canvas built to read the courtship mechanic directly: the male walks to a dance spot, raises his fan, and a running performance-quality score chases a target set by the sync-target slider, a sine-wave wobble and a penalty from female sensitivity — the same formula driving the 3D version. When the dance ends, quality is checked against an acceptance threshold that also scales with female sensitivity; clear it and the female accepts, miss it and she lunges while the male tries to escape. Tapping the drum button (or clicking the dancing male) adds a real bonus straight onto the quality score, mirroring the abdomen-drumming vibration signal real peacock spiders use mid-display.
2D top-down peacock spider courtship lab: a live performance-quality score (sync target + wobble − sensitivity penalty) decides acceptance against a sensitivity-scaled threshold, with drum-tap clicks adding a real scoring bonus mid-dance.
