How it works

The male's dance is scored by a single running performance quality value that chases a moving target every frame: target = syncTarget·100 + 7·sin(1.05·t) − femaleSens·16, clamped to 0–100. Quality eases toward that target and picks up small random jitter, so a higher sync target slider raises the ceiling while a pickier female sensitivity both lowers the ceiling and raises the bar.

When the dance ends, quality is compared against an acceptance threshold of 50 + femaleSens·20 — clear it and the female accepts the courtship; miss it and she lunges, with an escape chance of 0.15 + quality/140 for the male.
Tap the drum (or click the male while he's dancing) adds a real +4 to +8 bonus straight onto the running quality, mirroring the abdomen-drumming vibration signal real peacock spiders use mid-display.
Dance speed scales the whole display's animation and drum-tap cadence without changing the scoring formula itself.
