Pangolin Forage-and-Curl Simulator (2D)
Interactive 2D companion to the 3D Pangolin Forest: a top-down pangolin forages for insects, digs termite mounds and curls into an armored ball when a threat closes in — tune tongue speed, dig speed, alarm sensitivity and curl duration.
The 3D Pangolin Forest scene animates a pangolin wandering a lit forest but never exposes what actually drives it. This 2D companion turns that into a visible top-down state machine: the pangolin searches for termite mounds, digs them open at a rate set by dig speed, tongue-flicks released insects at a rate set by tongue speed, and — the instant a predator's distance drops inside a radius set by alarm sensitivity — snaps into an armored ball for a fixed curl hold time. Watch how a higher alarm sensitivity trades foraging time for safety margin, and how a longer curl hold time protects against a lingering threat at the cost of energy drained while curled and unable to eat.
