🐝 Beehive Foraging: Waggle-Dance Recruitment (2D)
A 2D honeybee colony forages from a hive to flower patches of different yields. Scouts discover patches and recruit nestmates via a waggle-dance-style signal scaled by patch profitability, an Artificial-Bee-Colony-inspired exploration/exploitation balance.
⚙ Under the hood
Bees forage from a hive to flower patches with different amounts of nectar, shown on a 2D canvas. When a bee finds a good patch and returns to the hive, it performs a dance. The dance lasts longer for richer, closer patches. Other idle bees watch the dance and are recruited to that patch with a probability based on the dance quality and a recruitment-strength setting you control.
