This simulator visualizes how weed pressure erodes crop yield over a growing season, driven by the Cousens (1985) hyperbolic yield-loss model that underlies modern weed-management economics. A 3D field grows crop plants and weeds side by side from emergence, with weed competitiveness set by how early they emerge relative to the crop and the maximum possible loss shaped by how quickly the crop's own planting density closes the canopy. A herbicide/mechanical-control slider lets you see how partial weed control translates into effective density and, through the formula, into real tonnes of yield saved per hectare.
