Functional Training Balance Simulator

Interactive functional training simulator: an inverted-pendulum balance model shows how added load, core engagement and surface instability combine to determine whether a stabilizing compound movement stays controlled or falls apart.

Functional training builds strength through compound, whole-body movements that also demand stability — the ability to resist and correct unwanted motion while under load. This simulator models that trade-off directly as an inverted pendulum balanced on a wobble board: the body constantly leans off vertical under gravity and surface perturbation, while a core-engagement controller supplies the corrective torque real stabilizing muscles would provide. Increase the load and the instability to see how quickly sway grows out of control, then raise core engagement to see how bracing strength claws it back — the same corrective loop that separates a controlled Turkish get-up from a lost one.
