2D Ballistics — Drag vs Vacuum Trajectory
2D side-view projectile motion with real numerically-integrated quadratic air drag (F=½ρv²CdA), adjustable angle, speed, mass, drag coefficient and wind, and a live overlay comparing the real drag trajectory against the ideal vacuum parabola.
This 2D side-view simulator numerically integrates real projectile motion under gravity and quadratic air drag (F = ½ρv²CdA), instead of drawing the idealised vacuum parabola directly. Adjust launch angle, speed, projectile mass, drag coefficient, cross-sectional area and wind, and watch the real drag-and-wind trajectory diverge from a dashed reference parabola computed for the same angle and speed with no air resistance at all — with live range, max height, flight time and impact-speed readouts for both.
