Life-Support Pressure Vessel Material Selector

Design a spacecraft life-support pressure tank in real time: pick a structural material, set pressure, radius and target safety factor, and watch the hoop-stress wall thickness, mass and fatigue-cycle life update on a live 3D vessel.

Spacecraft life-support systems store oxygen, nitrogen and water in pressurized tanks whose structural material is picked from a small shortlist — titanium alloy, aluminum alloy, stainless steel, nickel superalloy or carbon-fibre composite — each with a different strength, density and fatigue behaviour. This simulator applies the thin-wall hoop-stress design equation to size a tank's wall thickness for a chosen material, pressure, radius and safety factor, then computes the resulting mass and an estimated fatigue-cycle life from the material's Basquin fatigue constants, rendering the design live as a 3D pressure vessel.
