Emergency Reserve Drawdown
Interactive 3D simulator of a spacecraft's emergency O2, water and power reserves draining after a life-support failure: set crew size and rationing level and watch the days-to-critical countdown play out on live tanks and a supply rack.
When a spacecraft's primary life-support loop fails, the crew doesn't fall back on infinite margin — they fall back on a finite stockpile of emergency oxygen, water and power that starts draining the moment the failure begins. This simulator models that drawdown for real: three tanks and a rack of sealed supply canisters shrink and empty in 3D as O₂, water and power reserves are consumed at a rate set by crew size and an adjustable rationing level, with a live days-to-critical countdown tracking whichever resource is the binding constraint. Push rationing harder and the countdown stretches — at the cost of comfort and safety margin — exactly the trade-off real mission controllers weigh when sizing contingency reserves for the ISS or a lunar transit.
Simulate a spacecraft's emergency oxygen, water and power reserves draining after a life-support failure, and see how crew size and rationing level change the days-to-critical countdown.
