Kardashev Scale: Galactic Civilizations
Interactive 3D simulation of the Kardashev scale: drag a civilization's power output from a pre-industrial planet through a Dyson swarm around its star to a galaxy-spanning Type III empire, and watch the energy-harvesting structures grow in real time.
Drag a single slider — total power output — from a pre-industrial planet, through a star wrapped in a Dyson swarm, to a civilization that has enclosed a meaningful fraction of an entire galaxy's stars. This simulation visualizes the three classic Kardashev tiers (Type I: planetary, Type II: stellar, Type III: galactic) as real, continuously growing 3D structures rather than a static chart, using Carl Sagan's continuous extension K = (log₁₀P − 6)/10 to interpolate smoothly between them.
Interactive 3D simulation of the Kardashev scale: drag a civilization's total power output from a pre-industrial planet through a growing Dyson swarm around its star to a wave of harvested stars spreading across a galaxy, using Sagan's continuous K = (log10 P − 6)/10 formula.
