This is a full 3D volumetric reconstruction of the Witch's Broom Nebula (NGC 6960), the western arc of the Veil Nebula supernova remnant in Cygnus — a real shell of shocked gas roughly 2,400 light-years away, still expanding from a stellar explosion an estimated 10,000–20,000 years ago. Rather than a flat image, the shockwave is built as tens of thousands of glowing points threaded along procedurally generated filament strands wrapped around an expanding spherical shell, so orbiting the camera reveals genuine 3D depth and structure — filaments crossing in front of and behind each other, exactly as the real remnant's tangled, whip-like sheets of compressed gas do. Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and use the sliders to advance the shock through time, thicken or thin the ambient interstellar medium, and twist the filaments with a stronger magnetic field.
