This simulation renders a full 3D black hole — a dark event horizon ringed by a glowing accretion disk — that you orbit freely with the mouse, watching a falling chain of connected masses spaghettify from any angle, including edge-on where the radial stretching and lateral thinning are clearest. Real tidal physics drives the deformation: each mass in the chain feels the black hole's true inverse-square gravity individually, so the segments nearer the hole accelerate faster than the segments farther out, stretching the chain along its fall path exactly as a real extended body would. Internal structural springs resist that stretch up to a strength threshold you control; push past it and the chain snaps into an independent stream of debris. The mass slider trades a stellar-mass hole's brutal, close-in tidal gradient for a supermassive hole's much gentler one — set relative to each hole's own event-horizon size — so you can see why an object can survive to the horizon of one and not the other.
