Deep-Space Telehealth Delay Simulator (2D)

2D companion model of the deep-space telehealth delay problem: an independent orbital-distance and bandwidth solver plots Earth-Moon/Mars separation on a top-down map alongside a live doctor-patient message-exchange timeline, so you can watch light-speed delay and payload transfer time decide whether a real-time consult is even possible.

A purely 2D companion to the 3D telehealth-delay simulator: instead of a rendered 3D solar system, this model solves the same orbital-distance and bandwidth balance and draws it as two linked 2D views. The left panel is a top-down orbit map placing Earth and Mars on real, independently-orbiting circular paths driven by a mission-day timeline, with the true line-of-sight distance computed by a law-of-cosines calculation. The right panel is a doctor-patient consult timeline — press Send consult message to watch a packet travel out at light speed, get relayed by the target, and travel back, at a compressed but proportionally accurate visual speed. A recommended communication mode (live video, delayed video, store-and-forward telemetry, or fully autonomous AI diagnosis) updates live from the combined round-trip delay, matching the thresholds real Mars-mission medical planning has to work within.
