This 2D companion drives the same spring-damper kite flight, layered gust field and Verlet tether/tail physics as the 3D version through a flat side-view canvas: drag the gust-strength, direction, turbulence and tether-length sliders to watch the kite hunt for its wind-driven target position while the rope goes taut or slack and the ribbon tail flutters behind it.

2D side-view kite lab: a spring-damper force steers the kite toward a target offset by a layered sine-wave wind field, a 16-segment Verlet rope constrains it to the anchor, and a 10-segment Verlet chain trails the ribbon tail.
