The kite is a point mass steered by a spring-damper force toward a target position offset from its rest point by a layered sine-wave wind field (three superposed frequencies, rotated by the wind-direction slider and scaled by gust strength). A 16-segment Verlet-integrated rope constrains it to the anchor stake at the tether length you set, and a 10-segment Verlet chain trails a fluttering ribbon tail from the kite's tip. Same equations as the 3D version, read from the side instead of orbited.
- accel = k·(target − pos) − c·vel — stiffness k, damping c
- tether: if |pos − anchor| > L, clamp to the circle of radius L
- tail: Verlet points under gravity + a damped wind pull, distance-constrained each frame
