Planet Rotation Lab (2D)

2D planet rotation lab: pick a real planet or moon, spin it at its true sidereal rate and axial tilt, and watch the day/night terminator and tilt-angle gauge track live physics data.

This 2D companion drives the same real planet and moon dataset as the 3D version — true sidereal rotation periods, axial tilt angles, surface gravity and mean temperature — through a flat top-down view: a sun-lit hemisphere and terminator line trace the spin, rotating longitude stripes show the direction and rate, and a side gauge plots the current axial tilt as an angle from the orbital plane. Switch bodies, drive the tilt or time-scale sliders, or flip into wobble mode to watch the axis angle oscillate while the live readouts track rotation angle, elapsed simulated time and current tilt.

2D planet/moon rotation lab using the same real per-body dataset (sidereal period, axial tilt, gravity, temperature) as the 3D original, rendered as a top-down day/night disc plus an axial-tilt gauge.
