🏙️ How Planners Quantify a Liveable City
An interactive 3D neighbourhood block where you tune housing density, green-space share, and transit frequency, and watch population, green space per resident, and transit catchment update live.
A 3D neighbourhood block lets you set housing density, green-space share, and transit frequency, then watch population, green space per resident, and transit catchment recompute in real time — the same ratios planners use to test whether a district can support a healthy, sustainable community.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Density, green provision, and transit capacity are not independent knobs — raising density raises transit demand and shrinks buildable land for parks, so the model recalculates a blended liveability score from all three ratios together.
🎮 How to Use
Adjust the density, green-space, and transit-frequency sliders, and toggle mixed-use ground floors. Watch the block's height, parks, and 15-minute walk radius update, and read the live stats and liveability score in the side panel.
💡 Did You Know?
Higher-frequency transit doesn't just move more people — it makes a longer walk "worth it" for the same wait-time cost, which is why frequent service effectively widens a station's practical catchment area, not just its capacity.
