When a UFO sighting site is investigated for airborne contamination, specialists are often consulted one after another rather than all at once — and each one hears the previous specialist's number before giving their own. This simulator models that sequential consultation as an anchoring-and-adjustment process: every specialist forms a genuinely independent read of the true contamination level, but their stated answer only partially adjusts away from the anchor they were just handed. Tune the anchoring strength, the length of the consultation chain and the opening anchor value to see how far the final consensus drifts from the ground truth, and compare it against an unbiased chain that never heard any prior answer.

⚙ Under the hood

Experts' pollution estimates are influenced by an initial anchor value, pulling subsequent estimates closer to it.
