⚙ Under the hood

A 2D top-down traffic simulation using the Nagel-Schreckenberg cellular-automaton model. Cars on a multi-lane ring road follow four rules every step: accelerate, brake to the gap ahead, randomly slow down, and move forward. These simple rules cause phantom traffic jams to appear on their own, without any accident or bottleneck.
