This is the 2D companion to the 3D Social Sustainability Index Simulator: the same coupled dynamical system — education, healthcare, housing affordability and civic participation each drifting toward a policy-investment target while feeding back into one another — rendered as a flat top-down grid of 168 households instead of an orbiting 3D block city. Because every household sits in plain view at once, low-wellbeing pockets never hide behind taller neighbours the way they can in a rotated 3D scene, and a scrolling strip chart tracks the composite Social Sustainability Index and the live Gini coefficient over simulated time so you can read exactly how fast a policy change — or the economic-shock button — moves the numbers, rather than judging it from block heights alone.
