A 2D side-view companion to the 3D scene: a two-finger gripper with tactile fingertip sensors picks up a fragile egg and carries it through a lift-off, a mid-air jolt and a settle. Adaptive mode starts at the minimum holding force and reacts to detected micro-slip by boosting grip force in real time; naive fixed-force mode grips hard from the start and crushes the shell before the lift even begins.
