Tactile Slip Detection Grip
Interactive 3D robotic gripper with tactile fingertip sensors that detects micro-slip during a lift and instantly boosts grip force in response — compare adaptive slip-detection control against a naive fixed high-force grip that crushes a fragile egg.
A two-finger gripper with tactile fingertip sensors picks up a fragile egg and carries it through a lift-off, a mid-air jolt and a settle. Adaptive mode starts at the minimum holding force and reacts to detected micro-slip by boosting grip force in real time; naive fixed-force mode grips hard from the start and crushes the shell before the lift even begins. Toggle between the two and watch the live grip-force chart to see the trade-off between dropping and crushing play out.
3D two-finger gripper with tactile fingertip sensors lifting a fragile egg through lift-off, a lateral jolt and a settle. Adaptive mode starts at the minimum holding force and boosts grip force in real time the instant fingertip sensors detect a micro-slip vibration signature. Naive fixed-force mode grips hard from the start and crushes the shell before the lift begins. Toggle adaptive vs fixed-force and watch the live grip-force chart.
