Robotic Resistance Spot Welding: Nugget Growth & Distortion (2D)
Interactive 2D robotic resistance spot welding simulator: tune current, weld time and electrode force to grow a real weld nugget on a sheet-metal panel, watch expulsion when you overheat it, and compare weld-sequence order against a live panel-distortion heat map.
A six-axis welding robot carries a pincer gun across a sheet-metal panel, closing a real weld nugget at each point through Joule heating between two copper electrodes. This 2D top-down simulator models the actual process physics — current, weld time and electrode force set how much heat reaches the faying surface, growing a nugget that can come out undersized ("cold"), on-spec, or blown past the sheet as expulsion — and lets you compare a sequential row-by-row weld order against a center-out symmetric one against a live distortion heat map.
A 2D top-down robotic resistance spot welding simulator: tune current, weld time and electrode force to grow a real weld nugget on a sheet-metal panel and watch a live heat map of panel distortion build up differently under sequential versus center-out weld order.
