Line-Following Robot 2D: PID Track Control
Interactive 2D top-down line-following robot: tune a real PID controller against a live sensor-error signal as a differential-drive robot chases a randomly generated closed track, with pan/zoom and live error, steering and lap-time readouts.
Tune a real proportional-derivative controller against a live sensor-error signal as a small differential-drive robot chases a randomly generated closed track, viewed from directly overhead. The simulator models the actual differential-drive kinematics and PID feedback loop used inside every beginner robotics-competition line follower — push the gains too low and the robot cuts corners, push them too high and it oscillates, and the sweet spot in between is exactly what real robotics teams spend hours tuning by hand.
