Every head-mounted display renders a frame from a head pose sampled a little in the past, then spends a few milliseconds rendering, scanning out and displaying it. This simulator turns a virtual head at a controllable rate and shows two needles on a top-down compass: the true head angle right now, and the angle the display is actually showing after motion-to-photon latency. Adjust latency, turn speed and refresh rate to see how the angular gap between them grows, and toggle asynchronous timewarp to see how reprojecting the last frame toward the latest pose shrinks that gap without re-rendering anything.
