Mobile AR/VR Thermal Throttling Simulator (2D)
A 2D chip-side view of mobile-GPU thermal throttling during AR/VR rendering: raise the scene workload, watch the die heat up under Newton's law of cooling on a live temperature/FPS strip chart, and see dynamic frequency scaling drag frame rate below the 60/90 FPS target.
Every AR or VR app on a phone shares the same enemy: a heatsink the size of a fingernail. This 2D simulator models a mobile GPU rendering a live AR/VR scene as a top-down chip diagram — raise the scene workload or switch to VR's stereo rendering and watch the die heat up under Newton's law of cooling until dynamic frequency scaling kicks in, dragging the achievable frame rate below the 60 FPS (AR) or 90 FPS (VR) target. The orbiting content icons visibly stutter as their update rate is throttled along with the simulated clock speed, a live strip chart tracks temperature and FPS over time, and a comfort-risk readout shows how sustained sub-target frame rates in VR mode erode the motion-to-visual sync that keeps users comfortable.
