Polarization Beam-Splitter Photon Combiner (2D Schematic)

Interactive 2D optical-bench schematic of a polarizing beam-splitter (PBS) quantum-channel combiner: merge two orthogonally-polarized photon streams into one output port, tune polarization misalignment and PBS crosstalk on live sliders, drag/zoom the bench view, and watch extinction ratio, throughput and channel fidelity respond in real time.

This simulator draws a polarizing beam-splitter (PBS) quantum-channel combiner as a top-down optical-bench schematic: two orthogonally-polarized photon streams — horizontal on channel A, vertical on channel B — approach the PBS from perpendicular directions and merge into one combined output beam, exactly as a real PBS-based combiner does in a polarization-multiplexed quantum link. Misalignment sliders rotate each input's polarization away from its ideal axis and a crosstalk slider models real, non-ideal PBS hardware; both feed live Malus's-law extinction-ratio, combined-throughput and channel-fidelity readouts, a pair of polarization-axis dials, and a rolling strip chart, while misrouted photons visibly peel off into the reject port instead of joining the merged beam.
