This simulator models a 7×7 grid of smart streetlights — the kind of PIR-sensor-driven LED network real smart-city deployments use to cut lighting energy without leaving streets dark. Every pole idles at a low dim level until a vehicle or pedestrian enters its detection radius, at which point it ramps to full brightness and neighboring poles partially brighten too, forming a lit safety corridor instead of isolated bright spots. Brightness follows first-order exponential relaxation toward a target set by a per-pole hold timer and a 4-neighbor bridging rule, and the panel tracks live network power draw against an always-on baseline to show exactly how much energy adaptive dimming saves as traffic density changes. Click and drag on the street grid to walk your own pedestrian through the network and watch the corridor light up ahead of and around you in real time.
