Smart Streetlight Grid: Adaptive Dimming Network (2D)

This simulator models a 7×7 grid of smart streetlights — the kind of PIR-sensor-driven LED network real smart-city deployments use to cut lighting energy without leaving streets dark. Every pole idles at a low dim level until a vehicle or pedestrian enters its detection radius, at which point it ramps to full brightness and neighboring poles partially brighten too, forming a lit safety corridor instead of isolated bright spots. Brightness follows first-order exponential relaxation toward a target set by a per-pole hold timer and a 4-neighbor bridging rule, and the panel tracks live network power draw against an always-on baseline to show exactly how much energy adaptive dimming saves as traffic density changes.
